Over its brief history, KPJ Healthcare has grown into the leading private healthcare group in the country recording an average turnover exceeding RM498 million in 2001 with projections of achieving RM650 million by year 2002.

The Group's performance has been further enhanced with the listing of two of its hospitals, Johor Specialist Hospital and Ipoh Specialist Hospital under KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJ) as the first home-grown healthcare company to be listed on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in late 1994.

Acquiring more Hospitals

Two years after its listing, KPJ Healthcare Berhad will embark into its aggressive expansion plan to strengthen its portfolio by acquiring more hospitals to include Tawakal Hospital, Kuantan Specialist Hospital, Puteri Specialist Hospital, Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital and Damansara Specialist Hospital. This exercise is expected to culminate by mid year 2002, representing the Group's first of many further expansion exercises undertaken with a long-term focus to establish itself as the leading healthcare services provider in the industry.
