Prof. Dr. Shahrul Amry completed his postgraduate degree in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has since dedicated his career to enhance cardiothoracic surgery services both in government and private practice under the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
He is a well-trained cardiothoracic surgeon with vast
experience treating cardiothoracic surgical problems, with over 25 years of
operating room experience, and considered as one of Malaysia’s pioneers in the
field of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS). He has spent his medical
career concentrating on cardiothoracic, with a focus on core and subspecialty Minimally
Invasive cardiothoracic works ranging from paediatric to adult patients.
He has successfully done a wide spectrum of procedures,
including Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Minimally Invasive
Valves Repair and Replacement Surgery, Minimally Invasive Congenital Surgery
and Minimally Invasive Lung Surgery.
An avid researcher, Prof. Dr. Shahrul has published several
papers and co-authored various clinic practice guidelines for the minimally
invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery.
