Kt/V is one of the methods to measure hemodialysis adequacy and to identify the potential problems that impair the dialysis efficiency in each dialysis patient.
The Kidney Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative (KDOQI) group has adopted the Kt/V of 1.2 as the standard for dialysis adequacy.
Patients with lower Kt/V and URR numbers had more health problems and a greater risk of death.
