It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Malaysia to be visited and explored for food, coffee, and historical prewar buildings. Bandar Maharani, Muar was declared “the royal town of Johor” by Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj. This historical town also won the "ASEAN Cleanest Tourist City Standard Award (ACTCA)” in The ASEAN Tourism Awards 2018. The town is easily accessible via land, sea, and air from various cities and other provinces; including neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. Patients or Visitors may travel using land transportation as there are available express bus coaches from Singapore and Hat Yai (south Thailand) and stop at Bentayan Express Bus Terminal in Bandar Maharani, Muar. Aside from that, ferry services are also available regularly from Bengkalis, Dumai and Selat Panjang (in Sumatra, Indonesia) to Bandar Maharani Ferry Terminal. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, patients or visitors from Pekanbaru and Medan Kuala Namu, Indonesia were also able to visit Muar for treatment via aeroplanes which touchdown at Melaka International Airport. For the record, Malindo Air launched 5 flights weekly from Pekanbaru, Indonesia to Melaka in November 2014; followed by Wings Air which has also launched a new route from Medan Kuala Namu, Indonesia to Melaka starting in April 2018, operating daily. Currently, all flight schedules are still cancelled and also pending the re-opening of the Melaka International Airport.
