Patient Care
We welcome your families and friends to visit during your stay in the hospital. Generally, we do not limit visitation for patients in wards. However, for visitation after 9pm, visitors required to go through A&E and register their visitation with Security of the hospital. For patients in ICU, we are allowing two visitors per patient at one time to visit the patients, due to the critical situation of the patients. Children 12 years and under are not permitted in ICU. Please observe and adhere to the following visiting hours and regulations:

Specific visiting hours for ICU is enforced for the comfort and recovery of ICU patients.
9:00am –10:00am
12:00 noon –2:00pm
5:00pm –8:00pm
KPJ Miri Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides complex 24 hours medical and nursing care for patients requiring a higher level of care. Patients are admitted to ICU either electively after a planned major operation or as a result of an emergency that may arise during hospital admission. KPJ Miri ICU ward commences with 1 bed and progresses with 7 more beds by stages.
The surgical procedures that require postoperative admission to Intensive Care include, multiple trauma, prolonged and complex surgery and post-operative monitoring of chronic health conditions heart and lung that require ventilator support.
