KPJ Healthcare aims to attract medical tourists from Indonesia

    08:30AM, 19 February, 2019

JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- KPJ Healthcare Bhd will continue to focus on Indonesia’s Riau Islands in attracting more foreign medical tourists to its newest hospital, KPJ Bandar Dato’ Onn.

President and managing director Datuk Amiruddin Abdul Satar said this was because the islands are highly populated, with 1.2 million people living in Batam alone, and the direct connectivity between it and Johor was also a pull factor.

“As such, we will continue to focus on this market, and also hope to attract locals living within the area (Bandar Dato’ Onn) and other districts such as Ayer Hitam and Sedenak,” he told reporters after attending the Quran recitation and wellbeing prayers in conjunction with the opening of the new hospital here today. - Bernama
