Dr. Mary is a qualified Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and Gynaecologic Oncologist where she had further training in gynaecology & oncology and had learnt from the pioneer of nerve-sparing Okabayashi radical hysterectomy for surgical treatment of cervical cancer.

Currently, she is the only gazetted gynaecology-oncologist in Sabah. Complete staging including lymphadenectomy, total omentectomy and debulking surgery is her routine surgery. If needed, chemotherapy treatment and monitoring for both gynaecology (ovarian cancer, womb cancer and cervical cancer) and trophoblastic disease are her expertise. Early cancer detection such as performing pap and DNA test, colposcopy, HPV vaccination, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) treatment, vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VAIN), vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) treatment, trans-vaginal ultrasound and hysteroscopy are the backbone of her practices as prevention of cancer is superior.

Gynae-laparoscopy surgery or more popularly called key-hole surgery such as total laparoscopy hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), oophorectomy/cystectomy (removal of ovarian cyst), salpingectomy for sterility or ectopic pregnancy a highly specialized skill. Laparoscopy surgery is superior because it gives precision and much faster patient recovery. Perineal warts often cause women anxiety and can be treated either using medication or surgical methods. Menopause and deliveries can invade a women’s confidence which should not be ignored. Alleviation of these problems by cosmetic vulvovaginal surgery (‘designer vagina) is offered.
