MRI

Sibu Specialist Medical Centre operates an open MRI scanner, Airis Vento 0.3T. Images of the soft-tissue structures of the body such as the spines, joints, brain and other organs - are clearer and more detailed than with other imaging methods.

The detail of MRI images makes MRI an invaluable tool in various soft tissue injuries or diseases involving the spine and joints and also provide early diagnosis and evaluation of tumuors.

MRI also produces images in multiple planes (axial, coronal, sagittal and obliques) to enable more accurate detection of disease.

No radiation is used in MRI studies, thus it is safe to use in special population group, particularly children.
