Dr Sundar Gugan is a Clinical Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology currently serving at Hospital Sungai Buloh since 2012, with prior experience as Registrar and Medical Officer in O&G at Hospital Sungai Buloh and Hospital Kuala Lumpur respectively.
He holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universiti Putra Malaysia and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG,UK) in 2012.
He is trained in advanced minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery, including Level 4 procedures such as laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy and cystectomy, and has extensive experience managing both routine and high-risk obstetric and gynaecological cases. He is also one of the pioneer of ablative therapy including Radio frequency ablation , microwave ablation and others. He is one of the pioneer of V NOTES surgery in Ministry of health.
He is also the founding members of the AMRAS society and international society of ISOGA.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was actively involved in the surgical management of obstetric patients and served on the O&G OT committee for COVID-19 patient management at Hospital Sungai Buloh.
His expertise in advanced surgical procedures and crisis management would enhance the hospital’s capability in providing comprehensive women’s health services.
