Dr. Zurina attained her MBBS and Master of Ophthalmology degree from University of Malaya and served as a lecturer in University of Malaya till 2010. She completed her Oculoplasty training in UMMC and Sydney Eye Hospital in 2007. 

Dr. Zurina is an examiner for Oculoplastic Subspecialty Exit Exam conducted by Ministry Of Health.

 She is passionate about oculoplastic surgeries which ranges from aesthetic blepharoplasty, double eyelids to excision of eyelids tumour and orbital diseases. She also does nasolacrimal system surgeries such as dacryocystorhinostomy.

She is a member of Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and currently the Vice-Chairperson of Malaysian Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (under Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology).
